FALL CLASSIC
The Idaho Racquetball Association would like to thank
everyone who came out for the Fall Classic, it was
a really fun weekend filled with some awesome competition!
We would especially like to thank our wonderful sponsors:
Idaho Athletic Club on State Street for the use of
their club, Penn for supplying balls, draw sheets
and score cards and Roosters who provided great food
for the players Saturday night. Remember to visit
those who “give” with your business.
The Men’s Open and A draws were packed with
very competitive players making for some incredible
matches to watch. The Men’s Open final was between
Danny Shelton and Mike Welsh and it turned out to
be a nail bitter for a full three games. There were
incredible gets one after another with Mike Welsh
pulling out the win.
The Men’s Open consolation final between Steve
Neighbors and Jaymen Painter was great fun to watch
with a lot of light hearted humor and fantastic gets.
FYI : Jaymen and Kari are ENGAGED! “CONGRATULATIONS”
In the Men’s A draw it came down to Greg Cooper
and
Renny Wylie also an incredible match with neither
side giving up with Greg Cooper coming out with the
win.
The juniors all did really well with lots of improvements
to their games from last season we are very proud
of them, Alex, Colby, Jake and Erik. Awesome kids!
We missed Stephanie. Hope she is playing soon.
All though the women’s draw was small we still
enjoyed some great games, with Kelly Shepard coming
away with the win and Ronda Gilderoy coming in second.
Welcome Kelly!
Mike Welsh and Paul Carrol won Men’s open doubles.
Men’s A doubles, first was Renny Wlyie and Dave
Percell. Mixed Doubles was won by Kelly Shepard and
David Arff.
